Happy Birthday Aidan!!

Aidan turned 7 on Feburary 27th, which also happened to be Grandparent's and Special Friends Day at school. So Rich's Dad came in from Florida and spent the weekend here in town. Because of the weekend festivities, we took cupcakes to his class the day before his bday, took them to Chuck E Cheese on Friday night, then this past Sunday took him and two friends (and McKenna) bowling for the afternoon. Was quite the extended Birthday!

TBall

The kids started Tball last Saturday with Grant Park TBall. What a production the opening day was!! We all met (100s of people) at the parking lot at Turner Field and decorated the cars in the team colors, got our uniforms and had a police escorted procession through the neighborhood beeping and waving to all the neighbors at 9am on a Saturday morning. The kids are both on the Cubs and McKenna is the only girl - we are hoping she doesn't notice that. We swore there would be other girls on the team, but it didn't work out that way...luck of the draw. They had a game right after the parade on Saturday and both did great. Was more of a challenge for us grown ups to keep the kids on the bench, sitting still, with no rocks or sticks, out of the tree (seriously), get their batting helmets on and off, remind them of where 1st base was and high fiving them as they came back to the bench even if they didn't get on first base. The season lasts until May so I'm sure there will be any more Tball stories to come.

A few pix from Christmas...a little late.

Just wanted to share some pix from our trip to NC over the Holidays. I know it's really late, but this year is flying by! My Dad is in the red shirt, with his lovely wife Nancy, there's a family picture of us, and a family picture of my little brother Matthew, his wife Wendy and their sons Taylor and Tanner, one of me, Shawn and Matthew and then one of me and Matt. Was so nice to see everyone! Love you guys!

Hair Cut

...just got A LOT of hair cut off yesterday...I'm trying to break free of the ponytail this year! It will take a little getting used to, but I think I like it!

Yard Work Already?

For those of you still covered in snow, I'm sure yard work is the furthest thing from your mind. We are still raking leaves from the gigantic oak tree in the front. We spent last weekend in the mud raking and bagging and doing some yard work. Was nice to be outside!

Happy New Year!

We hope you had a terrific Holiday Season. It's over yes, and we are left with 2009 ahead of us. What will we all make of it? I hope everyone finds their own peace and happiness - whatever that might be. So far Philip Wright is engaged, Tracy and Adam are engaged and I have my 25th High School Reunion this year. Lots going on and it's only January 11th. I'm sure it will be another busy, yet fulfilling year.

We enjoyed the Holidays and spent some time in North Carolina with my family - Beth, Ricky and the boys, Dad and Nancy, Matt, Wendy and the boys, Uncle Ted and Aunt Darlene - it was so nice to see everyone! Thank you for making our Holiday special this year. It's so hard to get to see everyone and seems that it goes by so fast.

My mom was here from St. Louis and stayed for a week. It was so nice to spend some quality time and she got to see how the Hatfield's live! She was a trooper and slept on the bottom bunk with the kids on the top. Maybe we can save enough in 2009 to build our addition so that guests can have room of their own. I'm sure the kids will soon be getting too big to sleep in one twin bed. Good thing McKenna is such a little peanut! Here are some pix from our Holiday.

We love you

Let the Holidays Begin!

Sorry it's been a while since I updated, just the crazy season! Shawn was in town for Thanksgiving and it was great to see her. The kids had a great time having her here and she got the luxury of sleeping in the bottom bunk with McKenna. I'm not sure she got much sleep!

It was also Rich's Birthday on the 28th so we celebrated that on Thanksgiving while Rich's Mom was with us. We had a great weekend, lots of shopping and food and family. Here are some pix of the kids hanging ornaments and being silly, a picture from Rich's bday and some random shots...McKenna made the party hats...they were too cute...and Aidan doesn't wear glasses, those are his great grandfather's wire frames with no glass, he SWEARS he can see better with them on...enjoy!

We are not heading North for the Holidays this year, but will be going to NC for a few days after Christmas to see family. I'm sure I will be heading back to Ohio at some point early next year.
