McKenna's Self Portrait

We handed the camera to McKenna during Aidan's belt test, and this is what we got!

Skiing

Rich went to Salt Lake City with his Dad skiing for 5 days - they had a great time and I got some much needed alone time. Here's a picture of Rich and his Dad on the slopes!

A Snow Day!

The kids had an actual Snow Day on Monday, March 2nd. There were beautiful big snowflakes falling that day and here are some pix of the day. There are also some pix that Rich took in Grant Park of the day, as well. Nothing like Ohio, but I have never seen so many snowmen in one day! The entire city gets one chance every couple years to make them, so they are on every corner!!!

Ben's Birthday Party

My friend Ben turned 38 on Valentine's Day and had a party just blocks from our house at The Matador. A few marguerita's and cupcakes later we were all having a great time! And Ben added some spice to the night in his Taco uniform!!!

Aidan's Brown Belt Test

Aidan just tested for his brown belt the day after his Birthday and passed with flying colors. Big Daddy (Rich's Dad) was there to cheer him on and watch as he was the only kid in the class of 42 kids who got Perfect Attendance for the 4th time. He got his name on a plaque on the wall in gold and was very, very proud. We can thank Rich for that - taking him every week so he didn't miss a class!!

Happy Birthday Aidan!!

Aidan turned 7 on Feburary 27th, which also happened to be Grandparent's and Special Friends Day at school. So Rich's Dad came in from Florida and spent the weekend here in town. Because of the weekend festivities, we took cupcakes to his class the day before his bday, took them to Chuck E Cheese on Friday night, then this past Sunday took him and two friends (and McKenna) bowling for the afternoon. Was quite the extended Birthday!

TBall

The kids started Tball last Saturday with Grant Park TBall. What a production the opening day was!! We all met (100s of people) at the parking lot at Turner Field and decorated the cars in the team colors, got our uniforms and had a police escorted procession through the neighborhood beeping and waving to all the neighbors at 9am on a Saturday morning. The kids are both on the Cubs and McKenna is the only girl - we are hoping she doesn't notice that. We swore there would be other girls on the team, but it didn't work out that way...luck of the draw. They had a game right after the parade on Saturday and both did great. Was more of a challenge for us grown ups to keep the kids on the bench, sitting still, with no rocks or sticks, out of the tree (seriously), get their batting helmets on and off, remind them of where 1st base was and high fiving them as they came back to the bench even if they didn't get on first base. The season lasts until May so I'm sure there will be any more Tball stories to come.
