Happy Holidays! This is a bit late, but due to the Holidays I'm running a bit behind! We had a great Thanksgiving with our friends Rachel, Kristian and Joe - lots of great food and fun! Rich's Birthday was the 28th and the kids wanted to take him to the Zoo for his big day. So off to the Zoo we went. Here are some favorite pictures from that day! The Zoo is only a mile from our house and a block from the kids school, so the kids are very familiar and get to go often. They love to go into the Petting Zoo and brush the goats. Rich got a little close to the goats with red collars, which they warn you to not pet. Does he listen? No. He almost got butted!!! He's just like a little boy - they say "don't" he "does". I guess it was his Birthday so he can do what he wants! Enjoy the pictures and Happy Holidays!!

Trip to CA
A few weeks ago I went to visit Audrey (Wright) Stansbury in California. She is pregnant for the first time so congrats Audge!! Mary Helen (Audrey's Mom) also came out for the visit and we had a very fun girls weekend complete with great food, wine, bad chick flick, shopping, walks, coffee and bagels and even High Tea at the Trump National Golf Club. What a beautiful drive to and from High Tea - we even saw the whales migrating. Was a great weekend, thank you ladies! I also got a chance to see my dear friend Theodore who is doing great in LA. He blew out my hair for old time sake and then we ate lunch at Lemonade - what a great place!
Trick or Treat!
Wow, what a night. We handed out over 600 pieces of candy. We live on the main drag through our neighborhood, Ormewood Park, and it was so busy!! The kids went out for about an hour and came back with a bag full of candy, then with their friends Connor, Alary, Kenneth, Frederick and Joe, they watched It's a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown while the adults handed out candy. There were three of us at one time dropping the candy in bags, they came in packs! It was lots of fun although it was rainy and a bit cold, but that sure didn't stop the Trick or Treaters. After we were out of candy and the lights were turned off, they were still knocking at the door! Here are a few pix, Aidan was the 501st Clone Trooper from Star Wars and McKenna was a "plain ol witch". The other pix are from Friday when they wore some festive attire to school (not sure why, but Aidan was fascinated with a light switch that Rich took out).
And it was hard to get a picture, but I tried to get one of the house with all the lights - we had the crashing witch again this year which was again a big hit!

Halloween Parade
I was in LA this weekend visiting Audrey Wright (Stansbury) who is now expecting her first baby! Congrats Audrey! Rich and the kids went to the Halloween Parade in Little 5 Points. Which is something I am truly sad I missed. It's so much fun and you never know what kind of "freaky" it will be. Here are a couple pix of Rich, the kids and La La (Rich's Mom). I will have some LA pix uploaded once I get them off the camera!

3 Years go so fast!!!
A Plain 'Ol Witch
McKenna wants to be a "plain ol witch" for Halloween (those are her words) and she was test driving her costume with our Crashing Witch that we put on the front tree for Halloween. She was too cute! Aidan is going to be a Star Wars character - I believe a Jedi. I can't keep all the characters straight. More Halloween pix to follow.
Pooper Scooper
I should be careful what McKenna sees me do! She's very much about wanting to do what I'm doing. And one afternoon before I got home from work, she decided to grab two Target bags (as I do) and go in the back yard and pick up poop! She is such a great helper, but I had no idea she would do this task on her own. And I can say, she only did it once. It must not be as glamorous as she thought!

Biking
McKenna is learning to ride her bike without training wheels, which gives Rich and I a lot of exercise! He got the bar that attaches to the back wheel and we have to run behind her making sure she stays balanced. Here are a few pics from our friends Suzanne and Tim's house where they have a culdesac that is perfect for kids hanging out playing. Aidan has the bike riding under control - I think he needs a bigger bike - what do you think? Could be a good Christmas present this year!
Unicoi Camping
We spent Friday and Saturday night of Labor Day weekend camping with some good friends from the neighborhood. The Hagan's, Hartley's, Carr's and Hatfield's ventured up North a couple hours and found a resting spot at Unicoi. There were 7 adults (Tim Hagan was under the weather) and 7 kids. I couldn't sleep a wink since I have the light sleeping sydrome my Mom has! I heard every bird, every cough, every car alarm (yes, someone's car alarm went off in the middle of the night) and every step someone took in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom! But, we had fun watching the kids playing in the creek and we took turns with meals to make it a little easier packing and planning. We had a great time and the weather was perfect! And I am lucky enough to NEVER cook at home, but above you will see me doing the only cooking I have done all year. Flipping burgers!
Rainy Night
What better way to enjoy the rainy night than to run home from dinner in it! We walked to Little Azio's for dinner tonight which is 2 blocks from the house. As soon as we stepped inside, it started to pour down rain. We were hoping it would let up before we had to walk back home, but it didn't. We made a fun adventure out of it and took our shoes off, held hands and ran home! Aidan said it was the best time he's ever had in his life!!! It was really fun screaming and laughing all the way home! Here we are soaking wet!
Red Bull Soap Box Race
Late August we went down to Midtown at Piedmont Park and watched the Red Bull Soap Box Races. They were crazy and hilarious! It was a hot day, very crowded and we couldn't see well so the kids only lasted about an hour. It was a great workout for us because we kept lifting the kids up and down on our shoulders everytime someone was coming down the course. Here are a few pix. We took MARTA down to the races, but the walk to the park was very long...we took a taxi back to our car at the MARTA station. Was the kids first Taxi ride. I love Firsts!!!
